The Challenge
The site launched with no organic presence, no content, and no domain authority. The Bali travel niche is dominated by platforms like GetYourGuide, Viator, and TourRadar with massive authority. Competing on mainstream keywords like "Bali tour packages" was not viable from zero.
What I Did
Technical Architecture
Built the website from scratch on Next.js SSR with SEO architecture in mind from day one.
Informational SEO Strategy
Developed a content strategy targeting informational Bali travel keywords with lower competition, including niche topics around local laws, cultural events, safety, and traveler concerns.
Topical Authority & E-E-A-T
Targeted content around specific traveler search intent categories: legal questions, cultural events, budget planning, transport, food, and safety. Structured each article with heading hierarchy, TL;DR summaries, table of contents, and author attribution to build topical authority and E-E-A-T signals.
Content Publishing
Published 60+ SEO articles with consistent internal linking connecting blog content to service and tour pages.
Results
- Site reached 30,810 impressions and 252 clicks within the first months of indexing
- Top performing articles by clicks: Ogoh-Ogoh Parade Guide 2026 (91 clicks, 6,053 impressions), Magic Mushrooms Legal Bali (67 clicks, 4,029 impressions), Is Weed Legal in Bali 2026 (33 clicks, 7,817 impressions)
- Average position 5–7 for top ranking pages across Bali travel queries
- Organic traffic visible from 19 countries including Indonesia, Australia, US, UK, Singapore, Netherlands, and France
- Traffic spike in mid-March 2026 driven by the Ogoh-Ogoh parade article ranking at the right time ahead of Nyepi
